About the role
We are currently seeking a full time Fleet Technical Superintendent to help lead our Engineering and Maintenance Team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Fleet Technical Superintendent is responsible for the upkeep, reliability and programmed maintenance of all vessels, pontoons and land-based assets. Vessels must be maintained to meet regulatory compliance requirements and to achieve a high level of safety and reliability. The role overseas both the planning and delivery of both planned and unplanned maintenance as well as ensuring the on-vessel engineers (MEDs) are properly equipped to monitor performance and trouble shoot as required. The role is responsible for upholding scheduled maintenance programs, completing servicing as outlined by the OEM and ensuring the recording of these details in Helm (Planned Maintenance System) in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, Planning.

About you
The successful candidate will have previous maritime asset management experience. You will be able to provide guidance, support and coaching to the Engineering staff within Cruise Whitsundays on marine engineering and technical matters. You possess the ability to promote an environment of shared vision and co-operation for continual improvement of team performance. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable sometimes being onboard vessels, remote pontoons, working outside in the elements, at heights and confined spaces.
To be successful in this role you will have / be
Project and Change management skills
Experience in conducting risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures
Excellent ability to manage time, prioritise to meet deadlines with strong organisational and written/verbal communication skills
Intermediate computer (including tablets) literacy with experience using maintenance management software and data entry
An eye for detail and take pride in your work
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of and commitment to maintenance planning techniques and philosophies, including a continuous improvement approach.
Reliable, self-motivated and proactive
Strong personal presentation skills

Marine superintendence &/or Marine Engineering qualification
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid & Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – Mandatory
Previous maritime asset management experience and ideally exhibit knowledge of a variety of engine OEMs
Previous experience managing marine asset maintenance teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
