We are assisting a privately held professional services firm in Greenville with the recruitment of a Part-Time Controller / Accounting Manager . This role is designed to provide leadership and oversight of the company’s accounting function, with a primary focus on general ledger maintenance, month-end close, and financial reporting.
The company has existing staff in place to handle day-to-day functions such as accounts payable, payroll, and billing. This position will serve as the primary point of accountability for the accuracy of internal financial reporting and will work directly with ownership on financial statement preparation and review. The firm may have some limited regulatory reporting requirements, but there are no SEC-level compliance needs.
Core Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Manage the monthly close process and prepare internal financial statements
Support any necessary regulatory reporting and compliance efforts
Serve as liaison to external accountants or auditors as needed
Provide financial insight and recommendations to ownership
Qualifications:
Minimum 5–10 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated strength in general ledger and financial reporting
Prior experience in a small business or privately held environment preferred
CPA preferred but not required
Ability to work independently in a hands-on capacity
