Mississippi College seeks a qualified and dedicated Instructor or Assistant Professor of Nursing with a specialty in Pediatric Nursing. This full-time faculty position is a critical part of our mission to prepare skilled, compassionate nurses who are equipped to meet the healthcare needs of children and their families. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings, with an emphasis on pediatric care.
Primary Responsibilities:
Teach courses pediatric nursing, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical components.
Supervise students in pediatric clinical placements and assess clinical competencies.
Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement related to pediatric nursing education.
Serve as an academic advisor and mentor for nursing students.
Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and faculty governance.
Engage in scholarly or professional activities consistent with rank and institutional expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing, required; Doctorate in Nursing preferred
Active, unencumbered RN license (or eligibility for licensure) in Mississippi;
Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in pediatric nursing;
Strong teaching, organizational, and communication skills;
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching pediatric nursing in a higher education setting;
Familiarity with simulation-based instruction and online learning platforms;
Experience with accreditation processes (e.g., CCNE, ACEN).
